JaeYeon Kim, Ph.D. is an NIH NINDS K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award recipient (2025-2030) and a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neurology at UCSF. Her research integrates cross-species comparative neuroscience, neurodevelopment, and translational frameworks to uncover how developmental programs shape sensory and language-related circuits while creating vulnerability to neurodevelopmental disorders. Her long-term goal is to identify human-specialized developmental mechanisms that enable precise therapeutic intervention for disorders such as autism and dyslexia.
