Jae Yeon Kim received her PhD degree in Brain & Cognitive Sciences from DGIST in
the South Korea in 2020, working with Dr. Cheil Moon on mouse olfactory bulb
interneuron development. She studied the molecular machinery that distinguishes the
anatomical or functional specification of interneuron by their birth time. Jae Yeon joined
the Paredes Lab as a Post doctor researcher in April 2020, doing characterization of
late-migrating interneurons in human and piglet brain. Her research interests include
the distinct regional development in human brain and linking it with
neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
